Jackie, I dont know if you went back to the article but I think the whole thing is reprogramming the way we think... we have to change..... try keeping this in mind and maybe, it will come easier for you..

Thanks for your help, this sure saved me a ton of emails, so glad it is gone, I had checed before but I guess there were 2 down farther and I didnt scroll, lol what a mistake that was, I still only have like 21 points but playing with this learning as I go

Glad you found it! When you join groups now, it will show 4 boxes after joining, asking you to OK it- uncheck those boxes each time, because they are for different types of (SPAMMY!) email updates ;)

Do you mean the gather mail that arrives here at Gather, or notifications that arrive in your email box?

To stop the mass emails that get sent through gather, open emails by the worst offenders, the names that are popping up all the time. Once you have the email open, there is a "Block Sender" button- click that, and you won't receive any more from that person.

To stop Gather notification emails from going to your email box, go to "Email Notifications"- in the old style gather page, this is in the box on your main page that shows your point total, and mail.

In the new style Gather, hover over the "My Gather" tab, and scroll down to "Email Notifications"

From there, uncheck any boxes that are checked to send you updates, unless it's an update you want. It should get rid of the big email spam.

As for points, I did send a message back- it has a link in it with all the posts I've done in the past about different ways to earn points here on Gather.
